Knesset Christian Caucus MKs attend missionary-sponsored conference in Rome

When in Rome…

Knesset MKs representing the Knesset Christian Allies Caucus attended a conference held in Rome from January 27 -29th which was dedicated to “Advancing United Judeo-Christian Strategy”.

The Summit was co-sponsored by missionaries Christine and Peter Darg of Exploits Ministries and CBN’s Italian 700 Club. Italy for Christ and the Michael Cherney Foundation were also sponsors.

Jewish Israel has spent a lot of time and effort exposing the activities and agendas of a number of missionaries, but surely Christine and Peter Darg take the Pulitzer for proselytizing and pulling strings in Israel. Multiple examples of the Darg’s evangelizing activities and deceptive agenda appear throughout our site via quotes, blog postings, and video excerpts. We will link to additional relevant materials at the end of this post.

As a stated policy, the Knesset Christian Allies Caucus “condemns and refuses alliances with any groups that pursue the conversion of Jews to Christianity.” And last March MK David Rotem, the current Chairman of the Caucus, reaffirmed that, “the caucus's guidelines bar any connection with missionary groups.” Former Caucus Chairman Benny Elon noted that as far as missionaries are concerned, “the Caucus is legally bound to refrain from all connections with missionary groups in order to have NGO status”

And yet the Dargs, who have been directly involved in projects which target the Jewish people for conversion, regularly work with, sponsor, and organize events for the Knesset Christian Allies Caucus.

Christine can be heard telling Sid Roth on radio of her work and declaring that, “The Russian Jews are the most open Jewish people group to the gospel on the face of the earth at this moment. The Russians today were begging us for New Testaments … ". And Peter Darg can be seen on video promoting a missionary publication of the New Testament in Hebrew: “It’s heartbreaking…that Jewish souls will be lost to eternity unless they come to know him [Jesus] as their Jewish Messiah…I encourage you to sponsor a chapter of the much needed bible so that you can show the love of Yeshua to the Jewish people here in Israel…”

'You shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.'”
And their trustees report describes Exploits as “a missionary society.” Their objectives include taking "the Good News of Jesus Christ back to the Bible Lands where the Gospel began, to both Jew and Arab …”.

So how is it that the February 2nd Jerusalem Summit press release reports that, “the Israeli delegation sent by the Knesset Christian Allies Caucus included Knesset members Dr. Arieh Eldad and Deputy Minister Ayoub Kara, Dr. Dmitry Radyshevsky (Director of the Jerusalem Summit) and Itamar Marcus (Director of the Palestinian Media Watch)...”?

Those MKs and activists affiliated withThe Knesset Christian Allies Caucus have not only crossed red lines, but ironically and regrettably they have breached the very fences they established for themselves.

The Jerusalem Summit is described as “an international conservative think-tank which aims to develop an effective Bible-value-based strategy to combat terrorism and offset radical Islam…”

Jewish Israel is fully aware of the necessity for political, economic and humanitarian alliances at this volatile and uncertain time, and we in no way intend to destroy the important bridges being built. However, it is essential that the Jewish people in Israel and the Diaspora consider other core existential Jewish issues and ensure that our relationships do not erode our spiritual foundations and endanger Jewish continuity.
